About me
As a teenager, kickboxing was my passion. I was never the
biggest nor the strongest kid in my kickboxing class, and I felt that
this impacted my performance.
I started weight training in an attempt to
improve my strength and build muscle, but my initial attempts failed. I
lacked the patience, dedication and knowledge required to achieve my
goals. I joined Virgin Active (Pietermaritzburg) and hired
Nick Alberts as my personal trainer. Within six months of training with
Nick, I noticed a significant increase in my muscle density, strength,
fitness and overall physical performance.
I was absolutely amazed as to how exercise and diet could have
such a profound affect on the human body; both aesthetically and
functionally. Small differentiations in training methods and diet
produced noticeably different results.
My curiosity got the better of me and I was determined to get a better understanding of this concept. I studied exercise-science through HFPA and I
have been working at Virgin Active (Randburg) since 2010.
